Illinois and The Gross Reciepts Tax-Thank God Wisconsin does not have the Gross Reciepts Tax
Right now Illinois Governor Rod Blageovich wants to pass a Gross Reciepts Tax. It is measure that was used during the depression, but what it is, is a tax a buisness must pay on EVERY Transaction that they make. Governor Blageovich has stated that this tax is for improving educational funding in the State of Illinois. Wait, Illinois is taxed way less than Wisconsin, and now they want a tax that they the Blageovich Administration say that buisnesses will pay their fair share. Well, here is the problem, it is a pyramid tax, and if this is passed, Illinois economy would go down the toilet if this is passed. Illinois is 21st in taxes, while Wisconsin is seventh. People in all political parties are enraged right now. To be honest, Rod Blageovich since the election has been seeing his support base even in his own party eroding. During the 2006 election, the Attorney General of Illinois Lisa Madigan would not even endorse Blageovich. He used to been a US Represenative in the heart of Richard Daley and the mob, and now this new tax if passed could make Illinois far worse than Wisconsin. Thank God Wisconsin does not have this stupid tax. If Wisconsin passed this, more people would be moving to Indiania or Iowa or Minnesota in which they have kept the lid on taxes.
